With all of the uncertainties we’re all experiencing as of late, one thing I wanted to to do is to provide everyone with some insight on how the COVID-19 Pandemic has affected those who are scheduled to take the NCLEX and those who are anticipating scheduling their test date soon.
All of my clients know that I say one of the best sources for NCLEX related information is the NCSBN website – which is where you can find all things related to the NCLEX – including how test dates, scheduling and test structure has been affected.
The NCSBN has created a special page devoted to providing updates regarding COVID-19 and it’s impact on NCLEX candidates and here are the main points you need to know:
To ensure social distancing measures, the NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN exams will be administered as follows:
- Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) will still be used
- The minimum number of test items will be 60
- The maximum number of test items will be 130
- The maximum testing time will be 4 hours
- The difficulty level and passing standard has not changed
- The Next Generation NCLEX Special Research Section will NOT be included
As things change quickly across the country in response to the impact COVID-19 has on our communities, testing centers may be interrupted and test-dates cancelled. Additionally, for those who have had their test dates cancelled, it appears that the expiration date to test has been extended extensively (some up to a year) so hopefully this will help many plan accordingly as all of our priorities shift to care for ourselves, our families and our communities.
You can find answers to all of your questions and more by visiting the COVID-19 page outlining all of the FAQs, or you can contact the NCSBN directly by emailing them at nclexinfo@ncsbn.org.
Finally, as a means of softening the blow of the financial strain we are all facing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, ALL NCLEX TUTORING SESSIONS ARE 50% OFF through April 15th, 2020 (regularly priced at $185 per session). You can book as many sessions as you like and you are guaranteed to get each session at the discounted rate.
If you and your family members are safe and well and you have the means to do so, be sure to take this time to focus on improving yourself (physically, mentally and spiritually), spend each day living in the light of gratitude, and reflecting on how we can unite as a collective to ensure that we are better prepared for something like this in the future.
I hope you have found this information valuable, and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
I look forward to helping you or someone you know develop strategies for NCLEX Success!
Best,
Damion
