It is my strong belief that if we spend more time focusing on supporting and uplifting our colleagues, nurses would find greater satisfaction in the work that they do. Therefore I decided to create a monthly blog series: the Nursing Entrepreneur Spotlight – that focuses on exploring other nurse entrepreneurs and the fantastic work they’re doing.  Since I’ve launched my company The Nurse Speak, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful business savvy nurses. I’ve learned that there are so many amazing nurse entrepreneurs out there doing some really groundbreaking work, and this month’s featured guest is no different! So please let’s welcome this September’s featured nurse entrepreneur – Stella Nsong!

ABOUT STELLA NSONG, RN, CMC, CDP, LTCP

Stella Nsong is the state director of the Elder Care Planning Council in Ohio. She has thirty-nine years experience in the home and community-based industry in the roles of senior leadership, trainer, business coach, strategist and entrepreneur. She is an author, trainer, elder care columnist and a hands-on nurse entrepreneur of 5 different elder care enterprises. She has been featured on major news and media such as CNN, CNBC and Fox News as well as in the US News and World report for her contribution to the enhancement of the lives of retirees and family caregivers.

Stella Nsong is the facilitator of the 100 Nurse Millionaires challenge which is a nurse entrepreneurship program at the Six Figures Nurse Academy. In 1990, she won the Gold Medal for practical nursing in Georgia. In 2011, she was nominated The Business Woman of the Year in Chesterland Ohio. In 2012, she was nominated for the Platinum Award in Care Management as well as the Professional of Note in Geriatric Medicine. In 2013, she became a syndicated columnist with her famous elder care advice column called the Elder Care Cliff Report: What baby boomers need to know about caring for their aging parents. In 2015, she was a recipient of the 23rd annual Woman of Achievement Award. That momentous occasion recognized Stella Nsong for her endeavors in and to the business and health care community. Through her writing, lectures and mentorship, she helps nurses discover hidden business opportunities (in the home and community based elder care industry), uncover their strengths and monetize their passion so they can reclaim their lives, learn to love their careers again and get paid for what they are worth.

CONNECTING WITH STELLA

I met Stella at the 2017 National Nurses in Business Association (NNBA) conference in St. Pete Beach FL, and again this year at the 2018 NNBA conference in Las Vegas, NV. Stella was one of the many talented speakers and vendors at the conferences, and I am very happy to have met her, and reconnect with her again this year. During both conferences, she was very approachable, knowledgeable and eager to help aspiring and current nurse entrepreneurs.  Since last year’s conference, Stella and I have kept in touch, supporting one another via social media. I am looking forward to many future collaborations with Stella, and I cannot wait to see her again at next year’s NNBA conference  – again in Las Vegas!

To make things more interesting and to give you a taste of what Stella Nsong is up to, you can check out her out on Social Media and websites via FacebookTwitterLinkedIn, and Launch Your Agency with Stella!

So be sure to connect with Stella, and be inspired at what we nurses can accomplish!

Best Wishes!
