NCLEX TIP #2: If You Don’t KNOW THE ANSWER TO A QUESTION, MAKE AN EDUCATED GUESS AND MOVE ON!

Many nursing students and new grads alike get stuck in situations where they do not know the answer to a test question, and their test anxiety starts to get the best of them – Don’t be another statistic! The key to keeping a calm and logical mindset is to accept the fact that you can’t know everything. What’s important is that you remember that the NCLEX is not a tool to measure how much you retain from nursing school. What the NCLEX is however, is a tool to see how well you critically think and make sound nursing judgments that will keep you and your patients safe.

Here’s the inside scoop – The NCLEX levels questions depending on how well or poorly you are answering them. If you are answering them correctly, the questions will progressively get more complex. Similarly, if you are doing poorly, the questions will get easier to answer. So instead of focusing on the fact that you can’t remember what the hell venetoclax is, just make an educated guess based off of the answer choices, and move on with the test. The best part is that the next test question will be a little easier to answer, so as long as you remain calm and focused, you’ll have a chance at improving your score.

So instead of focusing on cramming with all of those tedious Med-Surg textbooks, you should start answering NCLEX style test questions, and begin learning how to master test-taking strategies today!

Best Wishes!
