Just because Thanksgiving has come to an end doesn’t mean the gratitude has to. In order to show our appreciation and celebrate the contributions of RNs, we share monthly inspirational quotes from RNs with our colleagues and those who advocate for the recognition they deserve.
In this November edition, we asked three RNs to share what they are thankful for. Here are their words of inspiration:
“To be honest, there are too many things that I am thankful for to list. But if I had to choose one, the biggest thing I am thankful for is the gift to ease my patient’s anxieties and relieve their pain. I feel it is the most important aspect of nursing, and I am thankful for every opportunity to bring relief to my clients and their families.” —Hospice RN of 12 years
“I am thankful to be part of such a talented and diverse patient care team. I get to work with people from all over the world with varying years of experience and skill sets. I have never felt strength in diversity like this before, and I am so thankful that I am appreciated for my individual contributions and talents.” —Critical Care RN of 16 years
“Receiving thank you’s from my clients and their family members has got to be what I am most thankful for as a nurse. At the end of the day, it’s the warm smiles, the hand holding, and the strong hugs that my clients give me that makes my heart swell. Nothing beats heartfelt thanks from those I care for, and I am so thankful that my daily work is paid in priceless sincerity.” —Medical Surgical RN of 9 years
